CRM Consultant - Job Description

Groundwire is seeking an experienced CRM consultant and business analyst to join our thriving Salesforce.com consulting practice.

At Groundwire, we work to create sustainable communities, to conserve and protect our natural resources, and to foster social justice by providing environmental nonprofits with the online organizing tools and strategies needed for social change.

For the past 15 years we have been delivering online tools to the advocates and activists working to save our planet. From the early days of setting up local servers and email accounts to our focus today on state-of-the-art communications and constituent relationship management systems, the online work we do has real world impact.

We need an experienced CRM Consultant to build customized databases that transform the effectiveness of the environmental movement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with nonprofit customers to identify their business requirements
  • Discover, document, and analyze key client organizational processes
  • Effectively plan and document project phases, and manage ongoing development of functional specifications through discovery, implementation, testing, deployment, and training
  • Analyze and migrate existing client data from various platforms: Access, Excel, Filemaker, eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge, etc
  • Design and implement customized CRM databases, both independently and within teams at Groundwire
  • Provide training and ongoing support for customers: report building, data quality, new integrations, etc
  • Maintain a working knowledge of platform innovations, third party integrations, solutions design, and process methodology
  • Effectively manage client expectations to ensure that projects are on time, on budget, and meet Groundwire's standards for excellence
  • Contribute to development of a strategic vision of how the environmental sector can use CRM data to bring about positive change


Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in an information technology consulting role
  • Experience configuring, developing or administering Salesforce.com is required. Knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, the Salesforce.com Web Services API and MS Access is preferred
  • Experience researching, evaluating, and implementing existing applications and/or customized solutions for internal or client-facing projects
  • Passion for environmental protection, civic engagement, and social change
  • Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented with an eye toward high quality, on time work
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to convey technical information to non-technical customers and good listening skills to translate in the other direction.
  • Strong collaboration skills; ability to lead and foster effective teams


This is a full-time position with the option to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. or directly out of our Seattle office.

Salary depends on experience. Please include salary requirements with your application.
