YES! Magazine

YES! takes on the news.

We worked with YES! to design the information architecture that allows the site to present YES! content in a more "native to the web" way, rather than mirroring the more linear structure created by the physical limitations of print. We were able to re-use many of the technical and strategic concepts we developed for High Country News the previous year.

Since relaunch of the new YES! website, the number of visitors to the website has tripled.

YES! Magazine needed a website to showcase their dynamic reporting, so we built a carousel on the homepage for rotating images and headlines, as well as functionality throughout the page for featured stories and photos. Calls to action are easy to find, and information is engaging and well-organized allowing site visitors easy access to areas of interest. We created functionality to surface the “Most Read” stories, along with news, events and blog posts to give the homepage a dynamic, up-to-date look and feel. Most importantly, the site needed to allow for easy content creation as a number of YES! staff are responsible for writing and editing stories.

Since relaunch of the new YES! website, the number of visitors to the site has tripled. Close to 60,000 people have signed up to receive the YES! This Week weekly roundup email. More than 3,000 readers signed up to participate in YES!’s No Impact Week challenge in 2011.
