- Core Product
Regardless of what platform your website might have been built on, everyone can take advantage of embedded video these days. What is "embedded video"? It simply means that you can easily post a video on your own website from another website without having to host the actual video file yourself. People do it all the time with YouTube. They'll post a video there and then embed it on their website so that folks don't have to visit YouTube directly to see the video. This also allows others to embed the video on their own sites without having to ask you for the video file.
Beyond YouTube
Embedding doesn't start and end with YouTube. All sorts of multi-media sites make it easy to embed content. Vimeo is one example - it's another video hosting site much like YouTube, but also supports High-Definition (HD) video. MySpace music players, Flickr slideshows, Photobucket images and many others join the list.
Technical Stuff
You are either going to use the website's "embed code" or use an IFRAME. Embed code is a bit easier to deal with since most multi-media sites provide it directly to you, while IFRAME code may need to be written by hand or have a third-party tool generate it for you.
