250,000 Loonies Make Their Way Across Canada

Have you heard about the No Tankers Loonies campaign? (Say what?) Dogwood Initiative, a land reform organization in British Columbia, distributed hundreds of thousands of removable "No Tankers" decals for residents to affix to the $1 Loonie coin. Each decal spreads the word about oil spills from proposed Tar Sands Tankers on the coast of BC's Great Bear Rainforest. Dogwood Initiative wanted to track the No Tankers Loonies as they make their way across Canada and beyond, so we created a form and mapping tool that lets people post their No Tankers Loonies sightings to Dogwood’s website. Those Loonies are everywhere!

Have you heard about Dogwood Initiative’s No Tankers Loonies campaign? (Say what?) This British Columbia land reform organization distributed hundreds of thousands of removable decals that say “No Tankers” for people to affix to the $1 Loonie coin. Over 250,000 NoTankers Loonies are already in circulation across Canada. Each decal spreads the word about oil spills from proposed Tar Sands Tankers on the coast of BC's Great Bear Rainforest.

Dogwood Initiative wanted to track No Tankers $1 Loonies as they made their way across Canada and beyond, so we created a form and mapping tool that lets people post their No Tankers Loonies sightings to Dogwood’s website. Those Loonies are everywhere! The goal? 1 million No Tankers Loonies into circulation.
